How I Found Purpose in My Broken Place — And How You Can Too

I’ll be honest with you, sis. When my marriage ended, when grief consumed me, when betrayal cut deeper than I could explain, I thought broken was my forever. I questioned God’s love. I questioned my own worth. I questioned if there would ever be life beyond the pain.
But here’s the revelation: purpose is often birthed in broken places. Look at Joseph betrayed by his brothers, thrown in a pit, falsely accused, yet elevated to the palace (Genesis 50:20). Look at Ruth widowed and left with nothing, yet positioned to be in the lineage of Jesus (Ruth 4:13–17). Brokenness was not their ending. It was the soil for destiny.
Sis, I thought I had lost everything. But in the ashes, God rebuilt me. In the silence, He refined me. In the wilderness, He taught me who I really was. And slowly, I realized that what I called devastation, Heaven called preparation.
Here’s the truth: your broken place doesn’t disqualify you. It’s the very thing God will use to shape your purpose. That divorce? That betrayal? That loss? That failure? It’s not wasted. Romans 8:28 says, “All things work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose.” ALL things not just the pretty ones.
So how do you find purpose in your broken place?
Acknowledge it, don’t bury it. Healing starts with honesty.
Invite God in. Your surrender creates space for His strategy.
Get in community. Mentorship helps you process, heal, and rebuild with guidance.
Sis, your brokenness is not the end of your story. It’s the birthplace of your next chapter.
